Is that a bird?
Is that a plane?
OHMYGOSH, it’s Lisa from Blackpink!1!!11!
A relatively-unknown lecturer from the College of Mobile Telecommunications in Chongqing, China became viral on the internet just because she has an uncanny resemblance with THE most popular Blackpink member, Lisa (a.k.a. Lalisa Manoban).
Many pointed out that the lecturer has the same hairstyle as Lisa, with some mentioning that she has a very similar facial structure as well.
There are also some that commended her on her looks, but just couldn’t see the similarity between the hugely-popular K-pop star and the lecturer at all.
Of course, her unintentional shot to internet fame wouldn’t have been possible had the students in her class not upload her photos to the popular Chinese social media platform, Weibo.
If you’ve been living under a rock…
Don’t worry, we’ll bring you up to speed. Here’s what you need to know:

- Blackpink (BP) is the world’s most popular and famous k-pop girl group right now.
- According to the stats, though some fans may tell you otherwise, Lisa is the most prominent member (out of the 4 members) in Blackpink.
- And by stats, we meant that she is currently the most followed K-Pop idol in the world – she has 48 million followers on Instagram (as of March 2021), and that’s just on Instagram.
- Her popularity stems from the fact that she’s multilingual (she’s fluent in English, Thai, and Korean, and can speak basic Chinese and Japanese), an incredible freestyle dancer, and boy, can she rap!
Mainly due to this, it’s unsurprising that someone who’s a dead ringer for the most celebrated K-pop star in the world would gain so much (possibly unwanted) attention from random people on the internet.
Now, moving on…
Stalker mode ON! Who is this lecturer?
Like most netizens who are avid fans of Blackpink, we’ve done some digging of our own into this Lisa’s doppelganger to find out more about her.
Unfortunately, the lecturer who goes by the name, Miss Tang, keeps a pretty low profile.
All we managed to find out is that she teaches modern history at the college, and apparently, even before going viral, she has attracted a ton of students to her classes solely on her beauty, and her classrooms are almost always full.
In fact, as explained by one of her students, “When I went to class, I found everyone was taking pictures with their mobile phones.”
When interviewed by the China Times, she said that she didn’t expect to be so popular, adding that she has asked her friends to not reveal anything about her as she hopes to live a private, low-key life.
Even the college chimed in with an official statement asking everyone to not disrupt or interfere with the teacher’s lessons or her students’ studies.
