South Korean actress Lee Si-young is divorcing her husband after eight years of marriage, her agency confirmed today.
“They are in the process of getting a divorce through mutual agreement,” Lee’s talent management agency, ACE FACTORY, announced on 17 March 2025.
The 42-year-old actress married restaurateur Cho Seung-hyun, who is nine years her senior, in September 2017. The couple welcomed their son in January 2018.
“As it is the actress’s private life, please understand that it is difficult to answer other questions besides this,” the agency added in their statement.
Divorce Proceedings Underway
According to Korean media outlet YTN, both Lee and Cho submitted divorce documents to the Seoul Family Court earlier this year.
The main terms of their separation have reportedly been agreed upon, with the couple still finalizing the details of their settlement.
The news has surprised fans as the couple’s marriage was widely perceived as stable and happy. Lee often shared glimpses of her family life on social media and during television appearances.
