Back in March, our very own homegrown TV host Lee Teng announced that he proposed to his Taiwanese girlfriend, Gina Lin.
And their love story was such a sweet one because it was actually love at first sight.
Little Bean Sprout
In May, Lee shared with everyone that his wife was five months pregnant and even nicknamed their child Little Bean Sprout.
He posted a series of Instagram posts dedicated to their Little Bean Sprout, revealing the gender of their child and asking whether anyone has any recommendations for a good stroller because there are simply too many to choose from.
In an interview with Lianhe Zaobao in July, he revealed that they registered their marriage right here in Singapore and that his wife had gone back to Taiwan to await the delivery of their child. He would then join her over there in August.
This was also the reason why they had to celebrate Lin’s birthday apart from each other.
But it was okay because thankfully, technology exists and it allowed them to still have a virtual celebration.
Everyone was so excited for the birth of their Little Bean Sprout, but unfortunately, yesterday’s post shared by Lee was the most heartbreaking one of all.
A Miscarriage
Lee posted a black-and-white photo of their hands on Lin’s baby bump, and shared that his wife had suffered a miscarriage.
He wrote in Chinese, “I have to apologise to everyone. I am sorry that Little Bean Sprout is unable to meet everyone. He came and left quietly. Gina and I are in grief. It has been especially difficult for Gina during this period.”
He also added in English saying, “My wife and I are saddened by the loss. Pardon us if we are not able to reply any messages at the moment. Please give us some time and space to overcome this plight. In the meantime, stay safe and take care.”
Sending Love
After the news was shared, various celebrity friends of Lee poured in to send him love and encouraging messages.
No updates were found on Lin’s Instagram account but there were still a few comments telling her to stay strong on a post that she shared on 5 July.
