A new hero has emerged, bravely fighting the villains known as “litterbugs” who seek to dirty our city.
Here’s how she found them, recorded them, and even chased them with their rubbish.
Uploaded Videos on HardwareZone, First Video an Action Movie
The litterbug-catcher Wendy Chan started posting videos of litterbugs on the HardwareZone forum, exposing those who littered near her residence.
Many litterbugs were drivers who parked their cars in parking lots near Somme Road, along Jalan Besar.
The videos, uploaded to a YouTube account called “Parc Somme”, seem to be CCTV recordings from outside the Parc Somme condominium entrance.
The first video, which Chan said was an “action movie”, shows sped up footage from multiple camera angles of Chan chasing after a litterbug.
She saw him throwing away an empty drink can in a flowerpot, which she then grabs before chasing after the man.
Chan said that she managed to catch up with the man, who apologised to her and took their can back.
However, she isn’t sure whether they properly disposed of the can. After all, they could have littered again after she left.
Placed Litter on Litterbug’s Car
In another video, Chan catches a litterbug red-handed.
A man, while on the way to enter his black and white SUV, placed an empty cup on the ground near some flowerpots.
The worst part? He walked past a “no littering” sign, but still decided to litter anyway.
Chan walks out of the condominium’s gates, picks up the empty cup, and places it in the car even before the man has a chance to close his car door.
The footage then shows Chan talking to the driver as he takes the cup, brings it into the car with him, and drives off.
We found her, everyone! The person that is faster than Sonic!
A commenter pointed out her remarkable speed in the second video, saying that “the time taken for her to come out is faster than Clark Kent putting on his underwear to change into Superman”.
Chan responded to the comment, explaining that she happened to be sitting near the gate when she saw the driver walking by with the empty cup. She “more or less predicted” that the driver would litter, and he didn’t disappoint.

Threw Tissue Paper on Ground After Cleaning Car
Another video shows a couple wearing matching shirts standing around a parked BMW.
One of them cleaned the vehicle with lots of tissue paper, and decided to throw the used tissues on the ground.
While we were expecting Chan to pop up and maybe throw the tissues on their car, the video ends without her appearance.
However, she shared that she has filed reports with the authorities, so the wrongdoers aren’t getting away scot-free.
Other netizens were mostly in support of Chan’s actions, as everyone knows how annoying these litterbugs can be. The government would undoubtedly put the revenue from these litterbugs to good use.
