Liu Yifei’s Stunt Double, Also Surnamed Liu, Is As Pretty As The Movie Star Herself
According to 8Days, the identity of Liu’s stunt double has been unveiled…
Much to the fanfare of Netizens, who could not help but gush over her good looks.
Apparently, the stunt actor had posted some photos of herself in Mulan’s costume on her personal Weibo page.
And though the photos appear to have been removed at the time of writing…
One can’t help but be amazed at the visuals of the stunt actor.
After all, it’s not often that you see a stunt actor who’s just as visually-impressive as the person they’re ‘replacing’.
Apparently, the stunt double, who’s name is Liu Yaxi, has also appeared in various photos with the actress.
And if there’s one thing for sure…
They certainly seem to be on friendly terms.
For the record, Yaxi’s name appears in the credits as “Mulan Stunt double”.
And It’s Not Just The Exterior
Apart from her looks, a few online Chinese media outlets have also pointed out how Liu Yaxi had once protected Liu Yifei, who was slammed for using four different body doubles while filming.
In a post directed at the criticism, the stuntwoman stated that the Mulan actress “wasn’t being replaced as an actor”.
According to her, Liu Yifei had three stand-ins for lighting and camera tests, and one stunt double (being Liu Yaxi).
Liu Yaxi then clarified that all of the acting scenes were performed by Liu Yifei herself and that Liu Yifei’s use of a stunt double was more than justified.
It might, she said, prove dangerous if an actor tries to do everything by themselves.
She said: “Martial stunts are dangerous, and will inevitably require the use of a stunt double. If an actor does everything by themselves, it would be too dangerous. Our occupation requires our skills to be used somewhere anyway.”
“I feel that [Liu Yifei’s] professionalism and serious attitude to her work is something that everyone has seen. I don’t know about others, but I’ve learnt [from her] during the filming of Mulan.”
According to cinematographer Mandy Walker, Liu Yifei reportedly did 90% of her own stunts on the set of Mulan.
Not Exactly The First
Liu Yifei’s stunt double may look just as lovely as her, but as it turns out…
It’s not the first time such ‘perfection’ has occurred.
The phenomenon, it should be pointed out, is especially prevalent over in Hollywood, with a plethora of celebrities having their own visually striking stunt doubles.
In fact, one can even argue that in some cases…
The stunt double looks even more flawless than the actual actor.
