Super Angry Liverpool Fan Who Went Viral Has Been Arrested & Will Be Charged on Monday

If you are still smarting from Liverpool’s loss against Bayern Munich in their friendly match this year, at least you can be glad you did not make a big fuss about it in public.

If not, you would face the same fate as this overly enthusiastic but rowdy Liverpool fan—being hauled up by the police for being a public nuisance.

A Liverpool fan who sported a jersey bearing Andrew Robertson’s name had shouted and behaved aggressively outside the National Stadium and in the MRT station and train.

His ridiculous antics drew the attention of other people around him, with one netizen filming down three instances of this clownery and posted them on TikTok. The videos soon went viral.

Now, the police have arrested the man on suspicions of public nuisance.

Here is the update about how a football fan’s show of love for his favourite football team went south.

Man Who Shouted and Acted Aggressively in Public Was Arrested by the Police for Public Nuisance

A lack of self-control can be an expensive mistake for some.

A man who attended the Liverpool-Bayern Munich match earlier this August can attest.

The man, reportedly 30 years old, was arrested by the police for being a public nuisance. He will be charged in court this Monday (7 August 2023).

We cannot imagine how that is a good start to anyone’s week. Talk about Monday blues.

If convicted, he may be liable to a fine of up to $2,000 and potentially squat in jail for up to three months.

What a hefty price to pay for venting anger after your team didn’t perform as well as you wanted them to.

For those unaware, the man had waved his arms aggressively outside the National Stadium and shouted very loudly in the MRT station (Stadium MRT station).

He also allegedly hurled verbal abuse at the MRT staff, according to reports by The New Paper.

In the train, the man also cussed out some football players from other teams and taunted individuals on the team (presumably fans from the winning team).

Man Was Identified Through Interviews and CCTV Footage

If you are wondering how the police could have zeroed in on the man so quickly, we have answers for you.

The police spoke to The Straits Times to reveal that they did “extensive ground enquiries” and used “images from CCTV cameras” to establish the man’s identity and arrest him.

How resourceful of them.
