We sometimes forget that humans are pattern-seeking mammals.

This explains why you always wear the same underwear for your football matches after you scored a hat-trick in your first game, even though it’s highly disgusting.

When something good happens to us, we have a strong desire to thank someone or something for our good luck, and often attribute it to the supernatural or divine.

While some pray for happiness, good health, or for Manchester United to start being good again, others pray for wealth.

For some of us, these prayers go unanswered, but for one lucky Singaporean, he got his wish granted.

S’porean Allegedly Struck Lottery A Few Times After Praying in Thai Temple; Proceeded to Donate $44K to Temple

After praying at a temple in Thailand, a Singaporean man struck the lottery several times and won hundreds of thousands in prize money.

To show his gratitude for the divine intervention, the man returned to the temple and donated $44,000 (1 million baht) to help with repair works.

According to a Thai news outlet, 48-year-old Tan Yao Chong had been living in Thailand for 20 years.

The Singaporean businessman had heard about the supposed powers of the Song Sawoei Temple in Chai Nat Province, Thailand from his friend.

So, he took his friend’s advice and went down to the temple to pray for blessings.

Some time later, YC reportedly struck the lottery multiple times, and won several hundred thousand Singapore dollars as a result.

According to the Thai news site, YC had won the lottery in several Asian countries, including Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, and even Singapore.

A wise man might invest all of this money, while an imprudent one might blow it all in one night at a casino.

But because this man was so grateful for his winnings, he decided to give back to the temple which he believed won him all his prize money.

And it wasn’t a negligible sum either; he donated $44,000 (1 million baht) to show his gratitude.

The Abbot of the Song Sawoei temple, Phra Kru Prachan Sorawut, said the donation will be used for repair works, specifically to restore a monument of a former Thai monarch.
