Yes, you saw it right and your eyes aren’t playing tricks—chocolate for breakfast!

You’ve probably heard of all kinds of things regarding this brown-coloured goodness which comes in different forms—bars, chips, nuggets, and so on. Well, this is yet another proof that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes!

In the West, you might be surprised to see some parents actually encouraging their children to have a chocolate bar before going to school for an exam but for the majority of us Asians—well, it’s likely the opposite—we will probably only get our chocolate after our exams provided we do well. Sigh, oh well.

Well, kids, now you have an additional reason (legit to boot!) to pester your mum into getting you that bar of Kinder Bueno you love.

Researchers found out from a long study that “Chocolate intake was significantly and positively associated with the Global Composite, Visual-Spatial Memory and Organisation, Working Memory, Scanning and Tracking, the Similarities test (abstracting reasoning, and the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE).”

Basically, if you have no idea what that string of texts actually means, just know you’re doing your health some good with eating chocolate as a snack.

And wait, there’s more! If you were to mix chocolate and breakfast together in cake form—yes, literally—you’ll get a powerful meal that will kickstart your day. And if you can throw in some whole eggs into your wake-up diet, you’re sure to be down for an entire day that’s filled with a whole lot of energy and excitement.

This is because foods like chocolate and egg are brain foods, and when you intake them together, it can even help your brain function more actively in a positive fashion. If this isn’t good news, what is?

Besides, if you’re complaining that might not be worth risking some weight gain, not only are chocolate cakes good for you for breakfast when you’re looking for some brain power, they might act as a way to calm your guilty cravings and other bad eating habits throughout the rest of the day, according to a study done at Tel Aviv University. So if everything is done in moderation, things are good, right? Right.

Anyway, with that energy boost, why not get your ass off your bed and start visiting the gym? That way you’ll be killing three birds with one stone—satisfy your cravings, become brainier, yet still own a rocking killer body.

Oh, by the way, we are talking about chocolate as in those containing cocoa so if you’re a fan of white chocolate, well, sorry but it doesn’t count!
