A 46-year-old Malaysian man was gunned down outside a motorcycle shop in Meru, Klang on 20 Jun 2025, marking the third fatal shooting in Malaysia’s greater Kuala Lumpur area within a week.

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) were alerted to the incident at 3:37pm local time. Officers arrived at the scene to find the victim’s body slumped sideways in the driver’s seat of a four-wheel-drive vehicle, covered in blood.
Klang District Police Launch Murder Investigation and Manhunt
Klang Utara District Police Chief ACP S. Vijaya Rao confirmed the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. The body was subsequently transported to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Local media reports from Sinar Harian indicated that at least six shots were believed to have been fired at the vehicle. Photographs from the scene showed bullet holes in the driver’s side window of the pickup truck.
PDRM has launched a manhunt for the suspect. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Third Fatal Shooting Incident Rocks Greater KL Area This Week
Police believe the shooting is linked to criminal disputes originating in Sarawak and Selangor states.
The Meru incident follows two other fatal shootings in the region. On 17 Jun, two men were shot dead outside a shopping mall in Cheras, Malaysia. Several helmeted assailants ran towards the victims and fired multiple shots at them.
Four days earlier on 13 Jun, gunmen opened fire at a restaurant in the Brickfields area of Kuala Lumpur. One man was killed and two acquaintances were injured.
