The world of dating is pretty hard.
Let’s not even talk about getting rejected by a crush, the process of trying to talk to the person of choice can be difficult.
Fear of stumbling over your words, getting laughed at for your appearance are all genuine fears that people have when attempting to ask someone out.
But by no means should the way to ask someone out be to tell them you’ll rape them.
Firstly, a terrible way to introduce yourself. Secondly, it’s a freaking crime?
Worst Introduction
In an unfortunately real situation, Izzatul Nazmeen (@NazmeenAmin) had such an experience when an admirer (creep) slid into her DMs and tried to flirt with her.
And yes, told Izzatul that he wanted to rape her.
Like any sensible person, she quickly sent a message to the police the moment he kept on harassing her.
In translation, she basically told them, “Greetings, Malaysia Communications and Multimedia Commission and Royal Malaysia Police, please take action against this boy.”
The ickiest part about all of this is that the boy didn’t seem to get the hint, even when she told him that he was reported to the police.
The harasser even had the gall to ask for a video call session with Izzatul, in which she told him to meet up at the police station for that.
The following is another text chain from him when he was insisting to meet up with her.
“I’m used to raping people, sweetheart. You’ll be the only one to see me naked. I can’t take it anymore. Please, sweetheart. Come on. Reply me. Let’s video call,” was the rough translation of his words.
He also described other indecent acts he wanted to perform on her. Gross.
The guy even tried to guilt-trip her too for not meeting him. Someone has a screw loose.
Aftermath
Thank goodness that the police are currently investigating this man.
As expected, Izzatul’s post went extremely viral, the post eventually garnering around 1,800 retweets.
Funnily enough, the boy re-contacted her on Twitter, only this time to apologise and beg her not to pursue the case any further.
Man, justice must taste sweet, cause the guy definitely got his just desserts.
Izzatul finished off the tweet saying that she fights for women’s rights, and that rape is not a joke.
So guys, no matter how crap you are at this whole dating thing, NEVER do what this guy did. I trust you all to be better than this.
