Working overseas can prove to be a challenge for most. Not only do you have to assimilate into a new country with a new culture and lifestyle, you may not be able to see your family frequently as well.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s only separated families even more, for overseas travel is difficult when the borders of most countries aren’t open to us freely yet.
Sometimes, one’s own family may not even be easily contactable lest, touchwood, something happens to them.
Searching For Family
Someone working in Certis Cisco has taken to social media to ask for assistance in locating the family of a Malaysian employee of Certis Cisco who had sadly passed away.
Lim Jee Meng, 47, hailed from Ipoh, Malaysia, and was working for Certis Cisco Security in Singapore.
Unfortunately, he had passed away due to liver failure, as the posts from other employees seeking help on their personal Facebook accounts documented.
The posts were shared across various Facebook groups, including one in Malaysia-Singapore Border Crossers, in hopes that the news would reach his family members and anyone who may know them.
Photos of Lim were included along with a photo of his Malaysian identification card, which showed his place of residence in Ipoh.
After his passing, Certis Cisco had been trying to locate his next-of-kin in order for them to collect the body, but they were unsuccessful thus far, and hence resorted to asking help from netizens to share the posts.
The employees also asked for anyone with information about his family members to kindly contact Certis Cisco directly at the number +65 9853 9817.
Helpful NetizensÂ
The post in the Malaysia-Singapore Border Crossers group, which has a membership of almost 70,000 netizens, garnered over 2,000 shares thus far.
Netizens expressed their condolences for Lim and his family in the comments section, while some kind Malaysians living in Ipoh even offered to check out the residential address stated on Lim’s identification card.
One netizen who visited the address shared that it was a shop lot with nobody around, and that he thought Lim may have moved out of the spot a long time ago.
Seems like the search for Lim’s family may prove to be even more challenging if his home address turned out to be outdated.
