A 51-year-old Malaysian primary school teacher and her 21-year-old eldest son were found dead at their home in Taman Mutiara, Bukit Nanas, Malacca, on the morning of 12 June 2025.

Police investigations suggest that a family dispute may have led to the tragedy, with the son suspected of killing his mother. The cause of his death remains under investigation.
Family Dispute Escalates into Tragedy
The teacher had been raising her three sons alone after her husband passed away six months ago. The family lived together at the residence where the incident occurred.

On the evening of 11 June, she reportedly argued with her 17-year-old second son and asked him to leave the house. He did not return that night.
At about 5:00am on 12 June, the second son came home to pick up his youngest brother, aged 13, for school. He found the younger boy outside the house, injured and covered in blood from a wound on his back.
Inside the living room, he discovered the bodies of his mother and elder brother. He called the police immediately.
Police Investigation and Community Response
The 13-year-old was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment. He is reported to be in stable condition and not in immediate danger.
Police arrived at the scene shortly after 6:00am. Medical staff from Malacca Hospital confirmed the deaths of the teacher and her eldest son.
Authorities are treating the case as a suspected matricide and have not ruled out the possibility that someone may have experienced a mental breakdown during the incident.
A forensic team remained at the house as of 9:00am. The investigation was led by Melaka Deputy Police Chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Jefferi Abdullah and Melaka Criminal Investigation Department Head Assistant Commissioner Eu Kee Leong.
Neighbours told reporters they had occasionally heard arguments from the household but had not noticed anything unusual before the incident. They described the children as polite and respectful and expressed shock over what happened.
