Today’s general advice comes unsponsored and for free:
Wear. Your. Masks.
Not only is it law in this pandemic, but it also prevents the spreading and receiving of the virus.
Once again, please do so or risk getting caught by the police. Or, even worse, you’re caught by online superheroes and get blasted on social media.
Like this man who was had not just one, but two videos uploaded for netizens to learn what not to do during this Covid-19 pandemic.
No Mask And Seemingly Drunk
A witness reported to Stomp seeing man board the train at Holland Village station at around 3:30 pm on 23 August.
The witness also claimed he was drunk as he ‘saw him drinking earlier’ and carried a few bottles of alcohol.
He entered the train with a lowered mask and was promptly asked by a staff member to put his mask on properly.
However, he soon started lashing out, saying, “Tell me what you want. You tell me what you want. I ask you. I ask you. What do you want now?”
The cursing and swearing continued as the staff member called for help.
Acting Up On Back-Up
The train reached Farrer Road MRT and two more staff members entered to try and resolve the situation.
Sadly, the situation wasn’t much better.
When one of the new staff told the man to leave the train, he refused and screamed back at them.
“Why must I go out? I pay money leh.”
He then dared the staff to call the cops, claiming he was not scared despite everyone watching.
The dude even went to tap one of the staff’s chests.
The Stomper noted that he eventually got off at Bishan MRT station.
But if only that was the end of the story.
Video Follow-Up
Coincidentally, Facebook user Willy Low uploaded a video of the same man causing trouble at Bishan MRT.
Once again, he began shouting and scolding two more MRT staff who engaged with him.
This was what the man said:
“I just don’t want to wear my mask, can? You can call the police now, you can call the police. I don’t want to wear, can? Because if all of you wear masks, then why do I need to wear? You use your brain to think! Masks don’t need money to buy?”
There were also some Hokkien profanities thrown in between.
If anyone is caught not wearing a mask outside their homes, they face a fine of S$300 for the first offence and S$1000 if they repeat the act.
Props to the MRT staff who kept their cool in the situation. Not all of us would’ve had that saintly patience.
