If you did the crime, you do the time.
You know, I tried to take snacks from the kitchen when I was a kid once. Finished the whole pack before my parents came back too.
Only when I got questioned, I tried to lie my way out.

Which didn’t work since I forgot I was the only one home.Â
Needless to say, I got my ass whooped and learnt my lesson thereon after.
But it seems like some people really think they’re in the Matrix and tried to dodge the bullets.
Skipping Court
A warrant of arrest has since been issued against Visvanathan Vadivelu, 50, who avoided court after his hearing was temporarily stood down.

He pleaded guilty earlier this year to an armed robbery charge, two counts of drug consumption and one count of drug possession.
Hold up, you plead guilty…then you try and dodge court?
What.
He was initially represented by lawyer A. Revi Shanker but discharged his counsel on 16 September.

The guy then had the guts on 17 September, 4.30pm, to ask for a retraction of all his charges except the drug possession one from District Judge Kan Shuk Weng.
His reason being mental health issues.
The judge stood down the hearing for Mr Revi to be called to the courtroom. But when he arrived about 15 minutes later, Visvanathan was not there.
Man the guy bolted, FAST.
Well, an arrest warrant by Judge Kan is probably bolting after him too, luckily.

But What Did Visvanathan Do Exactly?
So I’ve gone on and on about what led to the escape, but what was his robbery charge all about?
Apparently back on 31 July 2017, he attempted to do just that at a Shell petrol station.
At around noon that day, Visvanathan rode his motorcycle to Upper Bukit Timah Road. He quickly disguised himself (and the bike) before proceeding to commit the crime.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Chong Yong said in an earlier meeting that Visvanathan had threatened the cashier and took around $1,000.
I hope he wasn’t too pleased since he got caught merely four hours later.Â

He was charged in court with armed robbery but got out on bail two days later. This normally means most criminals try to be more careful of their actions, right?
Nah, man.
Dude goes and gets his butt caught again on 15 September 2017, now for drug-related offences.
He had a packet of powdery substance which was later found to contain diamorphine or pure heroin. His urine samples couldn’t hide the truth either.
Friends, I hope this little tale deters all of you fresh minds not to go out and commit crimes. Being on the run kind of sucks.
