A beer promoter at a Jurong coffee shop was physically assaulted by a customer after he accused her of breaking a drinking agreement.

The incident occurred on 24 May 2025 around 10:00PM at a coffee shop located at Block 134 Jurong Gateway Road.

Customer Breaks Promise, Resorts to Violence

The customer, an older man drinking with approximately six friends, had made a deal with the beer promoter.

He promised to purchase six bottles of beer if she drank four glasses.

The woman, Mia (name transliterated from Mandarin), completed her part of the agreement but the customer then claimed he didn’t see her drink the final glass.

A video of the incident shows the man suddenly standing up and throwing a punch at Mia before being restrained by others at his table.

Another customer at the same table honored the original agreement and paid for two additional bottles.

The situation escalated when Mia called the customer untrustworthy. The man became enraged, pulled out a stack of cash, and slapped her face with the money before punching her.

“I take this job seriously and do it honestly. I cannot accept that just because someone has money, they look down on beer promoters and think they can humiliate or hit us. We deserve respect too,” Mia said.
