A 52-year-old man has been accused of molesting and sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s 10-year-old daughter for a year.
The alleged assaults took place at their home and even at cemeteries.
The man pleaded not guilty when the trial began on Tuesday morning, 8 Apr 2025.

The accused faces seven charges, including molestation, sexual assault, and sexual exploitation.
The victim is a 14-year-old girl who was between 10 and 11 years old at the time of the incidents. The accused was dating the victim’s mother when the alleged crimes occurred.
To protect the victim, the judge ordered the media not to report any information that could reveal the girl’s identity, including the defendant’s name.
Details of the Alleged Assaults
According to the prosecution’s opening statement, the accused moved in with the victim, her mother, and the victim’s younger brother in a two-room HDB flat in the northern area of Singapore in 2021.
The accused shared a bedroom with the victim’s mother, while the victim and her brother slept on mattresses in the living room.
According to Shin Min Daily News, the victim stated that one night in February 2021, she woke up to find the accused molesting her private parts.
The accused allegedly attempted to penetrate her twice but failed. A few days later, he tried again and succeeded in penetrating her.
On 24 May 2021, the accused parked his truck at a Muslim cemetery and allegedly penetrated the victim’s private parts while she was sleeping in the back of the vehicle.

The victim pretended to sleep on her stomach to avoid him, but he then allegedly penetrated her anus.
That same year, the accused took the victim to a nearby cemetery to collect water and forced her to help him masturbate inside the truck.
Victim Revealed Abuse After a Year of Suffering
The victim told her mother about the sexual assaults, who confronted the accused. However, he strongly denied the allegations.
The matter was dropped, and the accused allegedly continued to assault the victim.
In February 2022, the victim was visiting her half-sister when she broke down as it was time to go home. She decided to reveal the sexual assaults to her sister.

The victim’s father later took her to file a police report.
The court revealed that the accused ran a tombstone business at the time, which explained why the crime locations included both Muslim and Christian cemeteries.
Due to the irregular working hours of both the accused and the victim’s mother, the victim and her brother would follow them to work after school.
Occasionally, the four would park their truck in the cemetery at night and sleep there.
