A 41-year-old man was apprehended on 20 Sep 2025 at Ubi Avenue 3 after law enforcement received alerts about suspicious activity around 11:30 am.
Police found him shirtless, sitting by his car, and in the company of a small dog.
On approach, the man provided a false name and resisted arrest. He is accused of pushing police and attempting to bite officers while they restrained him.
Eyewitnesses documented the chaotic encounter, with the man’s dog barking and moving erratically near the scene.
Search Reveals Suspected Drugs
During a body search, officers discovered substances believed to be controlled drugs, an e-vaporiser, drug paraphernalia, and a bank card not under the man’s name.
Further checks confirmed he was wanted by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) for earlier drug-related offences.
Charges and Investigation
The man faces charges for using force against public servants, providing false particulars, possible fraudulent property possession, and suspected drug offences.
CNB has taken over drug investigations, while the Health Sciences Authority is examining the e-vaporiser.
Police did not report any serious officer injuries, and the suspect’s dog was released to family members.
Family Background
According to Shin Min Daily News, the suspect’s father holds a prominent position in society but has requested anonymity to protect his business interests from any association with the case.
The father revealed that his son had been living independently for several years, during which time they had lost contact.
Despite the family’s circumstances, the father views his son’s arrest as potentially beneficial, suggesting it could serve as a catalyst for personal reform.
In line with this belief, he has chosen not to arrange bail, hoping that remaining in custody might encourage his son to make positive life changes and seek rehabilitation.
Authorities continue to investigate the nature of the seized substances, property, and additional evidence from previous cases.
