A 47-year-old man died after collapsing during a National Day Parade rehearsal at the Padang on Saturday (21 Jun 2025).

The participant, who was part of the OneChangi NDP Parade and Ceremony Contingent, collapsed at 11:23am during the rehearsal session.
Medical personnel immediately evacuated him to the on-site medical post, where he arrived at 11:26am and was attended to by the duty medical officer.

Swift Medical Response and Hospital Transfer Fail to Save Participant
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was administered immediately at the medical post.
The participant remained unresponsive despite the medical intervention. At 11:42am, he was transferred to a standby SAF ambulance, which took him to the hospital.
Resuscitation efforts continued during the journey to Singapore General Hospital.
The man arrived at Singapore General Hospital at 11:57am. Medical staff pronounced him dead at 12:19pm.
The Ministry of Defence and Changi Airport Group issued a joint media release confirming the incident. Both organisations, along with the NDP 2025 Executive Committee, are in contact with the man’s family.
They are providing full support to the family during this difficult period. “We extend our deepest condolences to the family,” the joint statement read.
