A horrific murder case has shocked residents in Ballia district, India, where a 62-year-old retired electrician was killed and his body cut into six pieces by his wife and her three alleged lovers.

Wife Drugged Husband Before Brutal Murder in Ballia District
Devendra Ram, who previously worked with the Border Roads Organisation, was murdered on 8 May 2025 in a cold-blooded plot orchestrated by his 55-year-old wife Maya and three men—Mithilesh Patel, Anil Yadav, and Satish Yadav.
Maya initially reported her husband missing, claiming he had disappeared while going to pick up their daughter.

The investigation took a grim turn on 10 May when villagers detected a foul odor coming from a nearby field.
Upon investigation, they found human limbs scattered across the area, which forensic analysis later confirmed belonged to Devendra Ram.
Police recovered the victim’s torso from a well close to the crime scene.
According to police sources, Maya confessed to administering intoxicants to her husband, rendering him unconscious before she and her accomplices dismembered his body.
The killers divided the body into six parts, placed them in separate poly bags, and disposed of them in different locations to conceal the crime.
Police Shootout Leads to Arrest of All Four Murder Suspects
Ballia Superintendent of Police Omvir Singh said the investigation began immediately after the discovery of the remains.
Maya and her lover Mithilesh Patel were the first to be arrested, quickly admitting to their involvement in the killing.
The other two suspects—Anil Yadav, a truck driver, and Satish Yadav—were apprehended on 14 May following a dramatic confrontation with police near Town Polytechnic in the Parikhra Jail area.

When cornered by officers, the pair opened fire, resulting in Anil sustaining a bullet wound during the exchange.
Following their arrest, the duo confessed and led police to the weapon used to dismember Devendra Ram’s body.
Authorities are still searching for the victim’s head, which the suspects allegedly threw into the Ghaghara River in an attempt to hide evidence.
All four individuals are currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
The case bears similarities to another recent murder in Meerut where a wife and her friend were arrested for killing her husband.
