Man Driving 32,000KM In Initial D. Car To Marry German Girlfriend

How far are you willing to go for the love of your life?

Apparently, 32,000km.

Yes, that’s right. A man from Malaysia by the name of Hadri is willing to drive 32,000km in his trusty ol’ Initial D. car to Germany just so that he can meet the love of his life.

That’s dedication right there.

His story began back in 2007 when he was on a work trip. He had finally gotten the chance to meet the German lady who stole his heart after many conversations over the Internet.

Despite the language barrier, they talked a lot and eventually decided to meet up.

Confession

Two years later, Hadri decided that it was time to profess his love for her, so he packed his bags and flew all the way over to Germany to meet her once more. When he arrived, he simply handed her a rose and a letter and told her he was in love with her.

It sounds exactly like a scene out of a romantic movie. He is really setting the bars high for the guys out there huh. 

Overwhelmed with emotions, she could only respond with tears of joy. And that marked the first day of their beautiful relationship.

A few years later, Hadri popped the question and she said yes!

A Crazy Idea

In 2018, Hadri had this idea of driving up from Malaysia to meet her in Germany. Everyone thought that he was crazy, but he simply shrugged it off and continued planning for his journey.

Ever since he was a kid, studying was never his forte. Instead, he had a greater passion, and that was cars.

With that in mind, he decided that it would only make sense for him to travel to Germany by driving his Toyota AE86. He managed to get sponsors (FTuned Suspension/Yokohoma Tyres) and engaged with the Tourism Ministry to apply for a visa.

The 32,000km journey started from Putrajaya on Monday (19 August) where he was sent off by the Tourism Ministry.

It will take him approximately three whole months to reach his destination. As a bonus to his journey, he will be travelling along the famous Nurburgring Nordschleife track, aka ‘The Green Hell’, much to the envy of all racing fanatics!

He believes that this journey will be made possible thanks to his Toyota AE86 because he knows that the Hachiroku boasts to be reliable and durable. I’m pretty sure all AE86 owners can vouch for this, and perhaps even Initial D. fans would too!
