While some were out chilling on Boxing Day, many others were headed to the CBD for work. However, some Singaporeans from the latter group may have found themselves stuck in traffic if they drove along Telok Blangah Road.
The reason? On the morning of Boxing Day, a man allegedly fell off an overhead bridge onto Telok Blangah Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Here’s what is known about the incident so far.
Man Allegedly Falls From Overhead Bridge Onto Telok Blangah Road; Pronounced Dead at the Scene
On Thursday (26 December), those commuting along Telok Blangah Road towards the city in the morning found themselves stuck in traffic.
Some took a closer look and noticed the distinct blue tent on the first lane of Telok Blangah Road, just slightly before the SPC gas station. There were also several police cars parked around the blue tent.

Some might even have spotted the pool of blood still streaming out from beneath the blue tent.
But, what happened?
According to Shin Min Daily News, a man had allegedly fallen from the overhead pedestrian bridge onto the road earlier in the morning.
While it is unclear when exactly this happened, an employee from a nearby gas station shared that he noticed traffic along the road suddenly becoming congested at around 8 am.
The police shared that they received a report at around 9:05 am that a man had fallen under the overhead bridge along Telok Blangah Road.
Police officers and members of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) later arrived at the scene. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Police officers also blocked off the roads, leaving only one out of the three lanes passable by vehicles.
