Bubble tea frenzy is a real thing in Singapore.
And given how many cups of bubble teas are made and sold in Singapore every day, you can be sure that from time to time, news of bubble tea will make it online.
Previously, a lady wanted to enjoy a cup of bubble tea from KOI and found her experience marred by a fingernail.
And now, another episode of “Things That Shouldn’t Be In Bubble Tea” has surfaced again.
Brown Sugar Deerioca Fresh Milk
The Alley is well-known for their Brown Sugar series.
It looks good, tastes good and customers are generally happy with what they have.
And this beautiful looking cup of drink was what a man was hoping to enjoy on a Saturday.
Unfortunately for him, this was what he found instead.
This would be the best time for a joke like don’t drink unless the seal is there, but we’re not going to do that.
Because not getting to enjoy a cup of bubble tea, especially one that you’ve paid full price for, is no joking matter.
The man added that he was “lucky” the milk cap was too big for the straw, and that staff preparing the drinks should be more diligent.
The Business Has Responded
The Alley has responded to the incident which blew up online.
They said that they were aware of the incident at their Jewel outlet. The man himself has brought the matter up to their attention when it happened.
The Alley added that the incident was brought up to the local management team and The Alley HQ in Taiwan.
They have investigated the incident and will make sure to put into place enough protocols and processes to ensure it will not happen again.
When the man brought the issue to the attention of the outlet, he was given a refund for his drinks and given two complimentary beverages as well.
“The customer was pleased with the outcome and service recovery.”
Apparently, the man wasn’t happy enough to keep it off the internet, it seems. But nonetheless, the man got his money back and two free drinks as well.
All’s well that ends well.
The moral of the story? Make sure to watch what you eat or drink because you might just be the next person we’ll write about.
