Dogs pee by tree trunks, babies pee in diapers and humans who are off diapers pee in the toilet bowl.
But I guess the last point is just a stereotype as not all of us humans pee in toilet bowls after all.
A 57-year-old Singaporean man has been fined $2,000 for urinating at an MRT station, marking the second such case in a series of three recent incidents.

The defendant, Zhou Hongwei pleaded guilty on Wednesday, 26 Feb 2025, to one charge under the Public Nuisance Act.
Zhou’s Public Urination IncidentÂ
The incident occurred at 7:27 PM on 13 Jan 2025 at the passenger service centre of Potong Pasir station on the North-East Line.
Court documents revealed that Zhou had consumed alcohol before the incident.
He was travelling home to his Sengkang residence from Chinatown MRT station when he suddenly felt the urge to urinate.
Zhou alighted at Potong Pasir station and proceeded to the passenger service centre where he unzipped his pants and relieved himself.
Maybe it is time to put up signages near passenger service centres saying “Not a Toilet Bowl”. Just in case.
A station staff member who witnessed the act immediately stopped Zhou and called the police.
The court heard that Zhou was arrested on the day of the incident and charged two days later on 15 Jan 2025.

Legal ProceedingsÂ
The prosecution requested a fine for Zhou’s offence, leaving the amount to the judge’s discretion.
Zhou’s lawyer pleaded for leniency, noting that this was his first offence and that he felt ashamed and remorseful.
The lawyer added that Zhou had returned to the station to apologize to staff members.
After considering the offence and mitigation factors, the judge imposed a $2,000 fine.
Similar Public Urination Cases
Apart from this case, there are a few other recent incidents of public urination at MRT stations.

Li, too, was intoxicated when he committed the offence at around 10:00 PM on 10 Jan 2025.
In a third case, Soo Fook Khan, 53, another Singaporean man, allegedly urinated on the platform of Tanah Merah station on the East-West Line at 12:30 PM on 8 Jan 2025.
Soh’s case is still under review and is fixed for a pre-trial conference on 20 March 2025.
Not forgetting the quirkiest of them all — two men urinating side by side, on a tree near Toa Payoh MRT station. This happened on 14 January 2025 at around 9:00 PM.
