A man in Chemor, Perak ate a meal that he’ll never forget his entire life.
A rotten tooth in his mee goreng
On 14 Nov 2016, The Star reported that a carwash attendant, M. Agilan, was on his break and went to an eatery for lunch.
He ordered a plate of mee goreng and proceeded to bite into it. He bit into something hard spat it out.
“The dish looked normal and I ate it until I bit into something hard, which I thought was a stone.”
“When I spit it out, I was shocked to see a rotten tooth. I felt nauseous, disgusted and lost my appetite.”
Complained to the manager who reportedly agreed to take responsibility
Agilan complained to the restaurant manager who reportedly agreed to take responsibility and told him they’ll pay his medical bills should he suffer any illness after this.
However, when Agilan had a stomachache and suspected it to be from the rotten tooth and tried to get into contact with the restaurant, he was ignored and his phone calls not picked up.
Police report lodged
I know what you’re thinking, Agilan made a police report. He eventually did, but not before the restaurant manager lodged a police report against him first.
Agilan urged the Ministry of Health to look into the cleanliness of the restaurant.
But at the end of the day, the question remains: to whom did the rotten tooth belong to? The chef when he spat into the food or leftovers from another customer?
One thing we can agree on, Agilan sure had a rotten day.
