It’s one thing to lie about doing charity work but it’s another to boast about it to the entire world. Especially when there’s a higher chance of your lies coming undone.

“This birthday, I wanted to do something different.”

Apparently, this Malaysian man didn’t get the memo. On 21 Oct 2016, he uploaded images of himself with a family whom he has “helped”.

He wrote: “This birthday I wanted to do something different. I decided to give rather than to receive. It may just be a small giving & to only one family but what a wonderful feeling it was having to see joy & happiness coming from them!”

“We can’t help & save everybody but we can make a difference in somebody’s life! It only takes a spark to start the fire burning!”

He’s only the driver

When his post first went online, it garnered over 90 likes alone, but then, someone came forward to accuse him of lying.

Facebook user, Madhu Sevan, claimed that he wasn’t the donor. He was simply the man who drove the vehicle to the family’s house.

He said that the woman was from Kechara, but the man edited the image to look like she was wearing a normal, red tee-shirt and placed himself in the picture.

Since then, he has been getting flak from netizens for his lies. Since then, he has diligently deleted any comments that pointed out his lie.

Guess he got his one minute of fame – although not the way he expected. What do you think?
