In Hong Kong, 27-year-old Tam Kai Wun pleaded guilty to one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and another of ill treatment or neglect by those in charge of a young person. The father of three beat his friend’s seven-year-old daughter before making her stay in the toilet with 2 dogs.Â

He also tried feeding her dog food on an occasion when she refused to eat and even held her upside down which left her feeling great discomfort. The case was reported to the police by a social worker. After medical checks, there were bruises on both arms and her left thigh, which was also swollen.Â
However, it was argued that Tam was a person that was kind-hearted in nature, a good husband as well as a good father to all three kids. His out-of-character behaviour only happened when he was enraged at the heat of the moment.
The lawyer also brought up the girl’s impact assessment which shown the incident had limited impact on her as she had forgotten the incident.
Regardless if the incident really occurred in the heat of the moment, such acts only show the true character of a man.Â
