In fact, if done right, it could even shape a child’s developmental process for the better, instrumenting their growth throughout the years.

Such is the power of parental love.

Man Molested 12YO Stepdaughter Multiple Times to ‘Show His Love’

It’s one thing to show your love to your stepdaughter.

It’s quite another to use it as an excuse to satiate your dirty intentions.

Unfortunately, for the then 12-year-old girl in question, she was on the receiving end of the latter.

In February 2019, a man, who’s now 59 years of age, wedded the girl’s mother.

The girl’s birth father had passed away years ago.

As the victim’s mother was often out working, the man would take care of the victim on a daily basis.

At that point in time, she reportedly called him “daddy.”

However, things soon got out of hand, when the man pulled his stepdaughter towards him on the morning of 19 May 2019.

While his wife was in the kitchen, he patted her head before molesting her.

Despite being shocked, she did not dare to make a sound. As he was of bigger stature than her, she was also unable to push him away.

Thereafter, when the girl’s mother came out of the kitchen, the man reportedly resumed patting her head. When asked what he was doing, he simply replied that he was “showing love.”

After his wife went off to retrieve some clothes, the man began molesting the girl again.

Affecting A Relationship

The man later asked the girl to shower, while he sent his wife to work. After returning home, he sat next to the girl again.

It was at this point in time that the girl, who was playing with a phone, received a call from her mother. The latter then asked her to pass the device to the man.

As the man spoke, he began molesting his stepdaughter again.

Once the call was over, he reportedly asked the victim to join him on his bed.

He then passed her the phone, and began molesting and kissing her.

The man eventually removed her clothes and performed sex acts on her.

Afraid that the couple would argue, and that their relationship may sour, the girl was hesitant to tell her mother.

When she told her friends at school, however, she was encouraged to tell a teacher.

Eventually, she gathered enough courage to talk to her school counsellor about it. The matter was subsequently referred to the Ministry of Social and Family Development.

The girl was then taken to file a police report. According to a psychiatric report, she would think of what transpired and feel “grossed out.”

She would also see her stepfather in her dreams on certain occasions.

Sentencing

For molesting a minor, the man was sentenced to three years and three months in jail.

It should be noted that three months were incurred in place of caning. As the man is 59 years old, he cannot be caned.

He could’ve faced a maximum of up to five years in jail, as well as a fine.

His jail term has since been deferred to November.

Other Instances

Unfortunately, such sick twists on parental love are hardly uncommon.

Just last year, a 50-year-old Chinese national and Singapore permanent resident (PR) was sentenced to 24 years in jail for molesting and raping his daughter.

Apparently, he began touching his daughter inappropriately in January 2018.

In March 2018, he raped the young girl for the first time, before raping her again a month later.
