What do you do if you desire paid sex but can’t afford it?
Some obvious options include:
- Accepting that you can’t always get what you want, and moving on with your life
- Working hard to get some extra money to fulfil your desires
Unfortunately, one man went for the more sociopathic option 3, which entails tricking women into being intimate with you.
Man Pretended to be Sugar Daddy Agent & Tricked 11 Women into Sex Acts to ‘Test’ Them
The man, De Beers Wong Tian Jun, wanted to have paid sex in 2015 but couldn’t afford the prices he saw listed in online advertisements.
So, he ran an ad of his own on Locanto, looking for “sugar babes” who provided sexual services to “sugar daddies” in return for money.
The only difference was that he wasn’t the sugar daddy. Instead, he claimed to be an agent for well-off sugar daddies.
According to CNA, he said he was looking for sugar babes who were “serious about earning good money”.
But of course, the women who actually responded to his ad never earned any money.
Between April 2015 and January 2016, at least 11 women aged between 18 and 24 responded to Wong’s ad.
Wong said his well-off clients would pay the women S$8,000 to S$20,000 per month, but added that they first had to send their nude photos to Wong or engage in sexual acts with him.
He claimed to be assessing their suitability for such an arrangement with his sugar daddy clients. But of course, these clients didn’t exist. He simply deceived these women so he could sleep with them.
The horror for these women didn’t end there. After getting their nude photos or filming their sex acts, the man threatened to leak them if they did not sleep with him again.
This, understandably, caused great mental anguish for the women.
One victim was so distressed by the incident that she was later diagnosed with adjustment disorder with anxiety.
But fortunately, despite being threatened with having her intimate photos leaked, the woman lodged a police report.
Facing 36 Charges
Wong is now facing a lengthy stint behind bars.
The 39-year-old pleaded guilty on Thursday (18 Mar), to 10 charges including cheating, criminal intimidation, and possession of obscene photos for circulation.
Another 26 charges will be considered in sentencing.
The prosecution called for at least 30 months’ jail for Wong due to the premeditation in his offences.
Wong’s defence said he had been diagnosed with adjustment disorder, which affected his capability to make decisions, and that he is remorseful about his offences.
According to his lawyer, Wong’s health has been affected by the investigations, as he suffered a stroke earlier this year.
The 39-year-old will return to court for sentencing next month.
