What would you do if your uncle’s cat knocked over a bottle of beer on your laptop, damaging it?

Some of us with more experience with cats would question if it was a premeditated move by the cat as part of their plans to take over the world.

Most, however, would demand payment for repairs and get upset if the demand wasn’t met.

One 39-year-old in such a scenario ended up getting a little too upset, though, as he ended up attacking his uncle with a knife.

39YO Man Attacked Uncle With Knife After He Refused to Pay for Laptop Repairs

At around 5:00pm on 31 January 2019, Mohd Heirizal Kamarzaman and his uncle, 61-year-old Ahmad Sharip, had a dispute.

Sharip’s cat had knocked a can of beer over Heirizal’s laptop, which damaged it, but Sharip refused to pay for the repairs.

This angered Heirizal, who ended up arguing with his uncle. He left the house to drink before the dispute escalated further.

When he returned, however, his anger had not abated.

He told his aunt who was visiting the house at the time that he needed money to repair his laptop, before heading to the kitchen to retrieve a bread knife.

He then looked for Ahmad, who was showering, and kicked the bathroom door till it gave way.

Heirizal then started slashing his uncle several times and even slashed the mattress in the adjourning master bedroom multiple times after leaving the bathroom.

Ahmad, who tried to fend off the attack with his left hand, almost had his thumb severed as a result.

The aunt ran out of the house asking for help and a neighbour called the police.

Pleaded Guilty to Offence; Convicted of Several Other Offences Before This

Yesterday (21 Jun), Heirizal pleaded guilty to attacking his 61-year-old uncle with a knife.

For voluntarily causing grievous hurt to his uncle, the 39-year-old could be jailed for life, or up to 15 years. He may also be fined or caned.

However, it turns out that this wasn’t Heirizal’s first time breaking the law.

In 2013, he was imprisoned for 2-and-a-half years for various crimes. He also punched a Bangladeshi cleaner in 2018 after drinking several cans of beer, and made a nusiance call to the police in 2017, where he sang “f*** the police”.

That is not a smart thing to do.

The prosecution is seeking five years and eight months’ jail with nine strokes of the cane for his latest offence.

Heirizal will return to court on 23 July for mitigation and sentencing.

So, what have we learned here?
