This is, by far, the best episode of ‘How to sue people for the dumbest things’.

The second best would have to be the kid in Singapore who sued his parents for not paying for his overseas university education.

It seems like these days, suing people, things and anything else really is the best way to get what you want.

Someone stepped on my shoe? That’s it, I’m calling my damn lawyer. Literally and figuratively.

And it looks like the trend has caught on abroad:

Man Sues Apple For $21k Because His iPhone Allegedly Turned Him Into A Gay Man

Yes, you read that right. A man from Russia will be suing Apple for 1 million Russian Ruble (~S$21,231) or $21k due to moral harm.

He claims that an iPhone application allegedly turned him gay.

I am probably as confused as you are right now. But don’t worry, maybe the full explanation will clarify some of our queries.

Or maybe not.

Apple Led Him To Homosexual Activities

In the summer of 2018, the man ‘accidentally’ received the cryptocurrency “GayCoin” through his iPhone.

A note was attached to it saying, “Don’t judge it till you’ve tried it” which came along in the transaction.

He said, “Now I have a boyfriend and I don’t know how to explain to my parents. My life has taken a turn for the worse and it will not be normal again.”

He went on to claim that Apple led him to be involved in homosexual activities through manipulation. This, in turn, destroyed his morals and mental health.

Oh dear. In that case, I should probably be suing Apple too for making me play Candy Crush and harming my mental health.

Okay, okay. In all seriousness, this man’s ‘suffering’ should not be taken lightly.

Lawyer Stressed That This Is A Serious Case

The man’s lawyer, Sapizhat Gusnieva has stressed that this is a serious case because his client feels “very scared and is suffering because of it.”

He also said that Apple should take responsibility for their applications even if the transfer was made through a third-party application.

The court hearing will take place on 17 October 2019.

As sensationalised as this news is, we sincerely hope that the man in question will recover his morals and mental health, regardless of who was really to blame.
