Getting cheated on sucks.
Imagine spending so much time with the love of your life but have them go along someone else behind your back.
Sad and disgusting.
Naturally, the person who gets cheated on would be really pissed off.
Yet despite the anger, you should never allow yourself to be overcome by it and cause harm to the other party.
Even if they were provoking you.
Messy Home Case
But if you were in this situation, it’d probably take extreme amounts of control.
According to Mothership, 43-year-old fruit vendor, Han Bo was sentenced to nine months of jail for causing grievous hurt.
The reason? He splashed his wife’s alleged lover, 22-year-old Kan Chee Wai, with a kettle of boiling hot water.
Yikes.
The whole story is probably just as yikes from another perspective too.
Shinmin Daily News reported that Han was woken up by noise coming from another room in the house last year on 5 March.
To his horror, he saw his wife and Kan coming out of the room. When confronted, both acted like nothing was wrong.
When Han went into the room, he discovered that his wedding photo and the family photo had been shredded.
Still maintaining somewhat of a cool here, he started to discuss matters with the others two.
Han told his wife that he was willing to forgive her. He even offered his wife’s lover a sum of money if Kan agreed to leave her and return to Malaysia.
Sadly, the offer was refused and left the man fuming. But things get even worse from here.
Humiliating Counter-Offer
This is where things become slightly Mediacorp drama-ish.
After refusing, Han’s wife counter offered to give him a sum of money and asked him to return to China, his home country.
The nerve of this person even though she cheated.
To make matters even worse, Han even saw the two get intimate right in front of him after coming back from the toilet.
It’s almost as if they want to provoke a reaction out of him which was basically the whole kettle and hot water thing.
Han also threatened Kan with two knives prior to that.
Remorse
After the whole fiasco, the fruit seller started feeling guilty.
He took Kan to Ng Teng Fong Hospital to treat his injuries and intended to turn himself in the next day.
Which he didn’t have to because the police showed up at his place, likely courtesy of his spouse.
While the prosecution had asked for at least 12 months imprisonment for Han, the judge noted that the injuries did not cause permanent damage to Kan.
It was also factored in that Han was suffering from depression.
The guy was kind of lucky honestly, since he could have gotten a jail term of 10 years, fined, caned or a combination of everything.
I kind of feel bad for Han because of the whole cheating situation but he also potentially could’ve injured someone permanently.
Cheating is for the terrible human being but over-aggression can lead to serious trouble too.
