In Singapore, we always speak about how we’re all way too money-minded. However, an uncle recently took being money-minded to the next level, but not in the way that you’d expect — he was spotted boarding a bus with a $50 note tied to his head.
I guess you could say the money had literally gone to his head.
Man Spotted on Bus with $50 Tied to His Head; Netizens Confused
On Friday (20 September), a picture of an uncle with money tied to his head made its rounds on Facebook. In the picture, an uncle was seen boarding a bus with money secured on his head with two red rubber bands — there was a $50 note and also what appears to be a $10 note.
It’s not a sight you see every day. In fact, it’s probably the first time that most of us have seen someone tie cash to their head — which is presumably why many netizens were confused upon seeing the picture of the uncle.
Many netizens attempted to offer explanations for why the uncle had tied money to his head, and let’s just say, these netizens got creative with their responses.
Some netizens joked that perhaps the uncle was a loan shark and was signalling to everyone to borrow money from him.
Many also latched onto the idea that “money cures everything” and remarked that the uncle was probably using the money to nurse a headache.
$10 for a box of Panadol or $50 secured onto your head — pick your poison.
Others also speculated that perhaps the uncle had tied the money to his head so he could strike the lottery “head prize”.
Well, that’s one way to huat — it’s a little like the “coin on calculator” logic. If you paste a coin on your calculator, you’re more likely to huat.
A netizen also made a tongue-in-cheek comment that tying money on your head was a great way to attract a partner.
Out with the dating apps — now, we have tying money on your head.
Others also attempted to offer more plausible explanations. For one, some netizens speculated that a possible reason for the uncle tying money onto his head was potentially because he didn’t bring his wallet out, or was paranoid that the money would fall out of his pocket.
Some netizens also remarked on how the uncle might have done this because he had dementia, and didn’t want to forget where he placed his money.
So, what’s your take? Why do you think the uncle decided to secure cash around his head?
