Man Promised 15-Year-Old Girl S$700 for Sex, Fled After Act and Got Her Pregnant

In August 2023, a 32-year-old man exploited a 15-year-old girl’s financial struggles by offering her S$700 for sexual services after meeting her on a dating app.

Leong Alyu, now 34, approached the teenager on the Heymandi dating platform and later moved their conversation to Telegram.

Leong concealed his real identity, identifying himself only as “Z” during their initial exchanges. The girl revealed her age and mentioned her family’s financial difficulties during their conversations. Leong then propositioned her, offering payment in exchange for sex.

The teenager accepted the offer due to her urgent need for money but requested that he wear a condom. They arranged to meet at a multi-storey car park near Block 786A Woodlands Drive 60 in the early hours of 26 Aug 2023.

Leong told the girl that they could not go to his home because his girlfriend was present. The girl initially wanted to leave after hearing this explanation, but Leong persuaded her to stay by promising to pay the agreed amount.

He took her to a stairwell in the multi-storey car park where he kissed her and had sex with her without wearing a condom, despite her earlier request.

After the act, Leong immediately put on his trousers and fled the scene, running back to his home at Block 777 Woodlands Crescent.

The girl attempted to contact Leong afterwards but discovered he had blocked her on all platforms. Leong deleted their entire chat history and never paid the promised S$700.

Two months later, the girl went for a medical check-up and discovered she was pregnant. She subsequently underwent an abortion procedure.

A DNA test conducted by the Health Sciences Authority indicated that Leong was highly probably the biological father of the foetus.

Medical staff at the hospital reported the case to police, leading to Leong’s arrest on 2 Nov 2023. He was formally charged in court on 5 Mar 2025.

Leong faced three charges of sexual penetration of a minor above 14 but below 16 years of age, along with one count of fraud.

On 7 Jul 2025, he was sentenced to two years and 10 months in jail after pleading guilty to two of the charges. The remaining charges were taken into consideration during sentencing.

A gag order was placed on the victim’s identity as she was 15 when the offences occurred, despite now being 16. Leong has not made any compensation to the victim to date.
