What would you do if you had a colleague in the office who was so bad at his job that it angered you?
Talk to him and implore him to work harder?
Tell your boss about it?
These seem like practical options, but you’re forgetting one thing.
Strip away the shiny suits, nice shoes, and painfully expensive smartphones and you’d see that we are animals.
Despite our ability to communicate through sophisticated language systems, many of us would rather let our fists (and feet) do the talking.
Man Filmed Beating & Kicking Victim While He’s Down At Sengkang Rivervale Arrested Within 4 Hours
A video of a man assaulting an older man at a Sengkang void deck made the rounds on social media after it was shared on Facebook on Tuesday (22 Sep).
The instigator of the fight and more violent of the two, a 45-year-old man, was subsequently arrested by the police.
So, what happened?
In the video, a 45-year-old man wearing slippers and a black t-shirt can be seen beating and kicking a 47-year-old man who is laying motionless on the ground.
Despite the famous phrase urging people not to “kick others when they’re down”, that’s exactly what the man did.
He kicked, slapped, and punched the victim’s face repeatedly, all while showing off his extensive vocabulary.
The slipper-wearing man was so incensed that he started arguing with the older man, even though the victim seemed unconscious.
So, what could possibly make a man so angry that he’d kick, punch, and slap a defenceless man lying motionless on the ground?
Poor work performance.
Dispute Over Poor Work Performance
According to Shin Min Daily News, the pair are colleagues.
The 45-year-old man had helped his friend get a job as a cleaner, but the 47-year-old man reportedly performed poorly.
Embarrassed by his friend’s poor work performance, the man likely confronted his friend, and a fight ensued.
Arrested
The 45-year-old was arrested for voluntarily causing grievous hurt and suspected drug-related offences soon after the incident, reported Stomp.
The police said they were alerted to the incident at Block 182A Rivervale Crescent on Tuesday (22 Sep) at 3.44pm.
Meanwhile, the 47-year-old victim was rushed to Sengkang General Hospital. Fortunately, he was still conscious when admitted.
Moral of the Story
As a wise man once said: “don’t fight lah.”
We’ve seen time and time again that violence solves absolutely nothing, but sometimes we just can’t control ourselves.
Sure, it might make this particular man work a little harder because he fears death, but that’s not really the right way to motivate someone, is it?
Try using your words instead. And not the kind the man was spewing in the video above.
