There are some things in life you think you’d never see.
These include:
- an elderly couple grinding in a club
- a man doing push-ups in a bubble tea store
- a dog writing an article
- people wearing face masks over their crotches
These things, if ever sighted, would shock us to our very core, and lead us to question whether life is in fact real or one big illusion.

This must have been the question on the minds of some Malaysians recently, after they stumbled upon a rather odd sight on the streets.
Man in M’sia Reportedly Takes Giant Tortoise for a Walk Daily
When some residents of Johor Bahru stepped out of their houses and saw a man walking a giant tortoise, they might have wondered if they were still sleeping.
But the sight was in fact real, and images of the two were soon shared on social media.
A bare-bodied man was seen taking his pet tortoise out for a walk around his neighbourhood, which is believed to be somewhere in Johor Bahru.
Photos of the bizzare sight were shared on Facebook, and quickly made the rounds.
The man appeared to be walking around a landed residential estate, lugging along his giant pet.
As you know, tortoises are rather slow-moving animals, with an average walking speed of 0.2-0.5 km/h.
This, coupled with the fact that they’re placid animals, makes one wonder why the tortoise was leashed by its owner.

As this humorous Facebook caption implies, the walk, unlike most dog walks, must have taken some time.
Tortoise is a Centenarian
You wouldn’t think it when looking at it, but this mammoth tortoise has reached the ripe old age of 100.
The same old tortoise was later seen out and about with a young boy, along with the elderly, bare-bodied owner.
In pictures uploaded to social media, the boy can be seen tugging on the tortoise’s leash while the pet’s amused owner smiles at his miserable attempt to move the large creature.

Walking the giant tortoise must have been a tough task for the young child, but he seemed to enjoy the activity.
According to the Facebook page that uploaded the photos, the tortoise loves his walks a little too much.
“This 100-year-old tortoise goes for a walk daily and can’t bear to go home. Maddening!” it said.
What many people don’t know is that most tortoise species can live up to 150 years.
So, in 50 years, when Singapore has moved to Phase 692, we might see that little boy become an old man himself, lugging along the giant tortoise just as his previous owner did.
