Tired of having your staycations in the concrete jungle, where all you see are buildings after buildings? You might want to consider booking your next staycation at the new Mandai Rainforest Resort, opening soon in April 2025.
The New Mandai Rainforest Resort: Opening in April 2025
If you haven’t already heard, a new resort is slated to be open in Singapore in approximately four months — this new resort is none other than the Mandai Rainforest Resort.
As the resort’s name suggests, the new resort will be located in Mandai Wildlife Reserve, where you can easily access all five of our wildlife parks — the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders, Bird Paradise, as well as the upcoming Rainforest Wild.
The resort wiill be the first resort in Singapore to achieve the Building and Construction Authority’s Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy status.
Yes, you read that right — there’s such a thing as the “Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy” status. Just from the number of adjectives alone, you already know that the status isn’t something that’s easily achieved — buildings with such a status have to demonstrate a minimum of 60% energy savings from a 2005 benchmark.
It all sounds really exciting. So here’s everything you can expect from the new Mandai Rainforest Resort.
A Variety of Rooms With Different Views
The new resort, operated by luxury hotel chain Banyan Tree, boasts a total of 338 rooms nestled in lush greenery or overlooking the Upper Seletar Reservoir.
Macam living in the rainforest, except you’ll have a luxurious roof above your head and a proper bed to sleep on. What’s not to love?
There are all sorts of rooms available for guests with all sorts of needs. From twin rooms to suites, the new resort has it all. You can even book a treehouse in the resort, where you’ll be greeted by a plush king-size bed and a luxurious private patio.
Rooms will also have windows which fully open. After all, if you’re staying in the middle of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, it would be quite a waste not to take in the fresh air in the area.
It would be like going to Japan and not eating ramen. Go for what?
Ambient room temperatures will also be regulated so that you can experience the cool atmospheric temperatures of tropical rainforests, all while comfortably bing-chilling in your resort room.
The flushing systems in the resort’s rooms will also be special — rainwater will be collected and repurposed for every one of the 338 rooms’ flushing systems.
Each room will also come with an interactive display showing your power consumption levels. When power consumption exceeds recommended levels, the display would remind guests about it.
Wah, sustainability champion sia, this resort.

Facilities for Everyone: Rooftop Pool, Rooftop Bar, Gym, Spa, and Ballroom
With every resort, you can expect a laundry list of facilities and amenities (even if you don’t use half of them), and Mandai Rainforest Resort is no different.
According to the Mandai Rainforest Resort website, the resort aims to emphasise harmony with the rainforest while also offering modern amenities. These amenities include a rooftop pool, rooftop bar, and a gym.
You can also look forward to exploring the Banyan Tree Gallery, where you can find exclusive crafts and local creations from community artists. There’s something for everyone lah.
The resort will also house a 300-seater ballroom known as the Meranti Ballroom. And in true “nature-inspired” fashion, the centrepiece design of the ballroom is influenced by a mushroom.
But not just any mushroom — it’s the bridal veil stinkhorn, a mushroom known for its hexagonal veil.
The Meranti Ballroom is also complemented with two meeting rooms and an exclusive Bridal Room — so if you’re looking for a location for future corporate events or a wedding party, look no further lah.
And for those who love hotels for their spas, the Banyan Tree Spa located within the resort is a must-visit as well. The spa offers a range of holistic treatments crafted by Banyan Group’s spa team.
Wellbeing pods? They have it. Mindfulness yoga? They have it. Even if all you need is a foot reflexology to relieve all that stress from work, the resort spa has your back too (or here, your foot, we suppose).
Easy Access to Wildlife Parks; Special Rates on Park Entry and Programmes
And finally, if you’re staying in the middle of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, of course you have to make a trip down to one of the wildlife parks. After all, each wildlife park is only a few minutes away — why not?
But if that’s not enough to convince you to head down to one of the wildlife parks during your stay at the new Mandai Rainforest Resort, this will — resort guests will have special rates on park entry and programmes.
If the offer is on the table, you should just take it lah.
If you’re staying at the Mandai Rainforest Resort, you’ll also get access to exclusive wildlife experiences, such as immersive guided tours for children at the Singapore Zoo. And if you’re able to wake up on time for it, you could catch an early morning visit to Bird Paradise as well.
The resort general manager Glen Cook said it best lah — the resort would “serve as the perfect launchpad for Singaporeans and tourists to discover the marvels of nature and wildlife”.
So, what are you waiting for? If you’re looking for a new staycation spot for the coming year, this is it lah. You can visit the Mandai Rainforest Resort website to find out more.
