On Thursday (3 August 2023), Mark Margolis passed away at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He was 83 years old when he passed on.

According to his son, Morgan Margolis, the actor had suffered from a short illness. Morgan Margolis is also an actor and the CEO of Knitting Factory Entertainment.

Margolis leaves behind his wife, Jacqueline, and his son, Morgan.

Mark Margolis Was the Star in the Breaking Bad Series and Its Prequel

For those who watch a lot of American television series, the name Margolis will surely remind you of the Breaking Bad series.

After all, Margolis helmed the role of the former drug kingpin Hector Salamanca for both Breaking Bad and its prequel, Better Call Saul.

Margolis nailed the role of the drug kingpin in a wheelchair who communicated exclusively through the use of a brass bell attached to his wheelchair.

Margolis’s role as Salamanca also led the wider audience to know about Margolis.

For his role as Salamanca, Margolis earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. This was in 2012.
