A Malaysian Chinese business owner and his son suffered serious injuries after being attacked by six masked assailants with knives at their heavy machinery repair shop in Sarawak, Malaysia.
Local authorities have launched an investigation into this violent incident that shocked the small community.

The Attack
The bloody incident occurred around 9:39 AM on Saturday (13 Apr 2025) at a heavy machinery repair shop at 17th Mile, in Xinsheng Village.
The victims were a Chinese Malaysian shop owner in his 60s and his son, who is around 30 years old.
According to the female shop owner who spoke to the media at Sarawak General Hospital’s emergency department that evening, they had opened for business at 8:00 AM to welcome customers.
At 9:38 AM, two silver Proton Waja cars suddenly arrived at the premises, and about six masked men armed with knives jumped out and rushed into the shop.
The attackers appeared to have clear targets, focusing only on the 60-year-old shop owner and his son, who is in his 30s.
The female shop owner and an elderly woman present at the time of the attack were not harmed during the violent assault.
Police from the Padawan district received reports of the incident and quickly arrived at the scene to begin their investigation.
The Aftermath
After the violent assault, the perpetrators quickly got back into their vehicles and fled the scene without taking any items from the shop.

The injured father and son were immediately rushed to a local hospital by family members for emergency medical treatment.
Due to the severity of their injuries, the father, who sustained more serious wounds, was transferred to the red zone of Sarawak General Hospital’s emergency department at around 5:00 PM for continued emergency treatment and specialized care.
The son was also transferred to the same hospital’s emergency department red zone at approximately 7:00 PM that same day.
The father suffered deep cuts to both hands and his left foot, with the left hand injury being the most severe and potentially life-threatening. The son received multiple cuts to his hands and feet during the attack.
According to Oriental Daily News, the female shop owner stated that all the attackers had their faces completely covered, making it impossible to identify them or provide descriptions to the police.

No clear motive for the attack has been established yet.
The Padawan district police chief, Mohd Irwan confirmed the incident when questioned in the evening.
He stated that the father and son were severely injured in the attack and that police are investigating the case under Section 326 of the Criminal Procedure Code (causing grievous hurt).
Authorities are reviewing security footage from nearby businesses and interviewing witnesses to identify the suspects.
