May The Force Be With You: Coca Cola S’pore Releases Star Wars Bottles With Lighted Up Lightsabers

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve watched a Star Wars film.

Everything after The Force Awakens is basically lost on me right now.

There are several friends who are indeed very disappointed in me right now.

Regardless, the latest instalment, Rise of Skywalker, is coming in just about two weeks on 19 December.

Amidst all your lightsabers and force powers, there is one more ‘force’ that uses its mystical powers to keep us addicted and back for more.

I’m talking about Coke.

Rise Of Sugarless Coke

I still don’t believe in a sugarless Coke existing.

But the power of the force might change that.

According to Mothership, Coca-Cola will be launching the world’s first lighted Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker No Sugar bottles in Singapore.

Looks pretty cool right?

Some of you might’ve also noticed the glowing lightsabers on the plastic wraps and yes, those are not edited.

These are the world’s first OLED plastic bottles!

There’s a printed electronic circuit on the packaging which closes upon touch and lights up the weapon.

They come in the classic lightsaber colours as well: blue and red.

Each bottle can apparently light up to 500 times with a five-second touch limit each.

There goes my plan to keep it as a souvenir then.

But of course, not everyone is worthy to drink such power.

Galactic Hunt

So a quick note for all of you thinking of running to 7-Eleven now.

There are only 8,000 of these lighted bottles and they’ll be hidden in 45 secret locations across Singapore.

Which is why those who get to drink it will be decided through a Galactic Hunt.

From 6 to 22 December, participants can attempt to nab these bottles over the weekend by following these instructions.

1. The dates for the hunt are 6 – 8 December, 13 – 15 December and 20 – 22 December.
2. At 10 pm before each day of activation, five riddles will be released through Coca-Cola Singapore’s Facebook, Instagram, and the official campaign website, to be solved.
3. Answering each riddle will lead fans to the location of a gatekeeper who will hand them a special pass for the lighted bottle only from 12 pm to 8 pm.
4. The pass then allows the owner to redeem it at the nearest 7-Eleven and purchase the lighted bottle by 9 pm the same day.

And with my strong belief that Singaporeans love limited edition stuff, you better solve and redeem your bottles ASAP!

Oh yeah, the Star Wars hype train has no brakes.

In addition to the hunt, a “Full Force, No Sugar” campaign will be held and this one is extremely easy for anyone to participate.

Just buy any Coca-Cola No Sugar 500ml PET bottle at any 7-Eleven outlet and submit your proof by sending it to Coca Cola.

You can even have another way to do this at Golden Village, Cathay Cineplexes and Shaw Theatres cinemas too!
