“You can’t believe everything you see online”.
Those were the words my grandfather said to me as he was teaching me how to ride a bike. I was a little confused at the time, considering the internet didn’t even exist yet and I was only 5 years old.
“On which line?” I asked, after falling over for the sixteenth time.
“You will understand soon enough, young one”, he replied.
A decade later, when I found out what he said was true, I called him up and praised him for his prophetic abilities, but he said he was just inebriated at the time.
Still, his drunk words ring true to this day: “You can’t believe everything you see online”.
Footage of Man Attacking McD Employee Due to Mask Issue Didn’t Happen in Bugis Junction
A video of a man attacking a McDonald’s employee with the caption “Bugis junctions” took place at an outlet in Hong Kong and not at Bugis Junction in Singapore.
According to Coconuts Hong Kong, the incident happened at a McDonald’s outlet in Tuen Mun at around 3am Tuesday (14 July).
The customer started kicking and punching the employee because he was angry about being told to put a mask on.
At the start of the video, a man in a black t-shirt swears at the McDonald’s worker and pushes the cash register aggressively. He then rushes behind the counter and starts punching the worker several times until he falls to the floor.
The man continues to assault the worker, literally kicking him when he’s down.
According to Apple Daily, the man and woman were both not wearing masks when they entered the outlet. The McDonald’s worker simply told them to put one on before they made their order.
At this point, the customer had two options:
1. Put a mask on
2. Literally anything but physically assault the worker
Unfortunately, he went for secret option number three, which was to punch and kick the worker like a maniac.
Crazed Attacker Later Arrested
After his attack, the customer with clear anger management issues fled the scene in a truck, reported Apple Daily. Meanwhile, the victim was taken to Tuen Mun Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Fortunately, the Hong Kong police managed to track down the 27-year-old man on Tuesday night and arrested him.
Investigations are ongoing.
Masks Significantly Reduce Spread of Covid-19
Unlike what some people on the internet might tell you, wearing masks isn’t part of the government’s plan to control and subjugate the population.
The authorities want us to wear masks because, well, it reduces the spread of Covid-19.
If you’ve always doubted the efficacy of masks, a study from a Hong Kong university might set you straight.
Experiments conducted at The University of Hong Kong found that the spread of the coronavirus through respiratory droplets or airborne particles was reduced by 75% when face masks were used.
Humans weren’t used in the experiment, of course. Cute little hamsters were.
Two groups of hamsters were placed in two cages: one group had Covid-19 and the other group was healthy.
Instead of manufacturing tiny face masks for hamsters, which would have been adorable, researchers placed mask barriers on the cage with the infected hamsters.
With no mask barrier, 66.7% of healthy hamsters were infected within a week.
With a mask barrier, only 16.7%. of the healthy subjects were infected.
So if a McDonald’s employee asks you to wear a mask before ordering your burger, either wear one or walk home sadly with an empty stomach.
But whatever you do, don’t verbally abuse or assault them. They’re just doing their job.
