Migrant Worker Who Saved Kid from Ledge of Hougang HDB Flat Identified Himself on Facebook

On 4 Jan 2021, residents at Block 243 Hougang Street 22 were treated to a chilling sight of a child standing precariously on the ledge of a unit on the third-storey.

He could be seen holding on to the bamboo pole holders for balance.

According to the SCDF, the incident happened at around 7.50am.

Rescue

Thankfully, the kid was rescued, not by the SCDF, but a foreign worker who was nearby.

Operating his boom lift, he carefully drove between the parked cars and reached the child.

Upon safely retrieving the child onto the boom lift and bringing him down safely, the crowd watching broke into applause.

Several voices could be heard on the video commenting about how lucky it was to have the migrant worker nearby, preventing what could’ve been a heartbreaking tragedy.

When the SCDF arrived, an SCDF paramedic inspected the boy on-site and he was not conveyed to the hospital.’

The migrant worker who’d saved the kid from Hougang HDB flat has stepped forward to identify himself in a Facebook post.

Going by the handle Kûâšhâ Ďâš, the worker gave identified himself as the hero of the day and gave thanks to god.

“At a work time I saving one children life in Singapore..at last my life is a good job..l pray for the God i doing the work properly..”
