If convicted, they face a jail term of up to seven years and a fine.

Rising Trend of Milk Powder Theft

This is not the first case of milk powder theft in Singapore.

In August 2023, a 38-year-old repeat offender was sentenced to 18 months in jail for stealing 70 tins of milk powder from various Sheng Siong and NTUC FairPrice stores, reported Channel NewsAsia.

The man had stolen approximately S$6,700 worth of milk powder between October and December 2021, which he then sold for profit.

He typically stole four tins at a time, hiding them in a large reusable shopping bag, sometimes with an accomplice acting as a lookout.

Police Advisory
