Singapore Airlines’ iconic Singapore Girl has long been a figure admired by many young children, synonymous with grace and elegance.
Some even grow up aspiring to follow in their footsteps and fly high in the skies – and we all know how precious our dreams were to us as a kid.
You know what they say – if you wanna be like them, the first step is to dress like them. And now Singapore Airlines is making that possible for little children everywhere.
Mini Sarong Kebaya On Sale
One of the unmistakable characteristics of a Singapore Girl remains their timeless sarong kebayas.
First conceived in 1968, the cabin crew’s uniform got refreshed with the touch of Pierre Balmain, a French haute couture designer, who was hired to update the uniform back then. Each of the four colours it comes in represents a different ranking.
The Singapore Girl image birthed from the rebranding as well to what we are familiar with today.
Singapore Airlines has revealed a new product especially for the little ones with big dreams – they’re now selling a mini sarong kebaya in the likes of the actual one that air stewardesses don.
Aww, look how adorable it is!
The mini sarong kebaya is made from the same lightweight batik material that traditional sarong kebayas worn by the Singapore Girl are made from as well, enhancing the authenticity of the outfit.
Available On KrisShop
The mini sarong kebayas are available on the airlines’ shopping website, KrisShop. Each will cost $75. If you’re a member, you may also exchange 9,375 miles for it.
They’re available from size XS to XL, which can probably fit children belonging to a wide range of ages.
Since children grow up fast and could even grow out of their clothes in a matter of months, the skirt of this mini sarong kebaya features an elastic waistband that’s easily expandable and can withstand the child’s growth for a longer time.
That sounds like a great deal, right?
Unfortunately, as all good things go, it’s become so well-received that the mini sarong kebayas are currently sold out online, so you may have to wait longer if you want to get your hands on a piece for your little one.
You can order one here when it’s made available again.
May your child’s dreams take flight, even when most planes are unable to now.
