Hit & Run at Orchard Leaves Dog with Multiple Missing Teeth & a Torn Lip

For animal owners, a great fear is something tragic happening to them.

And on roads, it’s good to take extra care especially with vehicles rushing about.

Unfortunately, sometimes extremely unfortunate incidents still take place.

Hit & Run at Orchard Leaves Dog with Multiple Missing Teeth & a Torn Lip

On 3 April, a dog owner, Joanna, took to Instagram to share a serious accident involving her dog, Action.

Do be warned that the post has images of blood and imagery of an animal being hurt.

At around 6.30pm that day Joanna said Action was hit by a car around Goodwood Hill on Stevens Road in Orchard.

Prior to the accident, she confirmed in a post a few days ago that after some heavy rains that day, the house gates weren’t closed properly something Joanna and her family take responsibility for.

At some point, Action had wandered out of the house and onto the road.

Unfortunately, despite the family and passersbys trying to stop traffic, one driver kept going and hit the puppy.

She noted in her first post that the driver didn’t stop and simply drove away, something which she also told MustShareNews.

Action’s Injuries

Action suffered pretty serious injuries.

The impact of the car sent him flying into a grass patch and tore his lips.

Not only that but he reportedly also lost around three to four of his teeth.

Action stayed overnight in ER due to the amount of blood he had lost.

Owner Not Looking For Monetary Compensation

Yet, despite the tragic incident, Joanna is not looking for monetary assistance from the driver.

She did not even blame the driver for causing the accident but was upset she did not stop despite knowing what had been done.

“We just want the driver in question to be held accountable for leaving Action in such a state. Hitting him was of course an accident, but making the decision to flee the scene is what cannot be justified.”

Joanna hopes that witness footage of the driver can be produced.

Drivers who fail to stop and attend to injured animals can be fined up to S$3,000, jailed up to a year, or both.

Repeat offenders can be fined up to S$5,000, jailed up to two years, or both.

Comments left on both Instagram posts wished Action well and hoped for a speedy recovery.

As of two days ago, Joanna uploaded another picture of him showing him at home and looking much better!
