Bro said he knew a spot—it was just jail.
A Malaysian couple was arrested last week after footage of them engaging in an indecent act went viral. The couple now faces two years in jail.
M’sian Couple Engaging in Indecent Act in Public Caught on Camera
Do everything as if you’re being watched because you probably are.
A 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman suddenly found themselves online famous last week after indecent footage of them went viral on Twitter.
The video has since been taken down after the Malaysian Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital, Ms Teo Nie Ching, requested it be taken down.
Ah, it’s always got to be Twitter.
The 23-second video showed the couple in a red Perodua Axia at a public carpark, appearing to be, how do I put this without being offensive… Knocking boots, so to speak.
Or, as the Malaysian Police would say, engaging in an “act of gross indecency”.
The woman, donning a Malaysian Red Crescent Society shirt, was nestled comfortably on the man’s lap. The Malaysian Red Crescent Society is a voluntary humanitarian organisation providing public education and other services.
Well, we’re 100% sure this isn’t part of the “services” provided by the Malaysian Red Crescent Society.

Two things are certain when you’re caught red-handed like this by passers-by with a camera pointed at you. One, you probably can’t do much else—if you move, you’ll probably flash the entirety of the internet. Second, you’re dead in the water.
And that’s precisely what happened—the couple did not budge from their somewhat awkward position throughout the video. When the man filming the video asked what the couple were doing, the 22-year-old man in the video merely responded by claiming that his now literal partner-in-crime was sick.
It’s no Bonnie & Clyde, but it’s love, I guess.
And even though the couple wasn’t exactly dead in the water when the video was posted, they would be a week later when Police tracked them down after netizens tagged the Malaysian Police in the video’s comment section.
Couple Arrested on Thursday; Face Up To Two Years in Jail
On Thursday (6 April), a week after the couple’s indecent footage went viral, the Police located the couple and arrested them.
Two items were seized by the Police. The Malaysian Red Crescent Society shirt donned by the 17-year-old and the now infamous red Perodua Axia.
A statement issued by the Malaysian Police confirmed that the indecent act filmed in the video occurred at a car park at Taman Kota Masai, Pasir Gudang, at 3:03 pm on 29 March.
A strange choice of time and location for a strange date activity.
The couple, however, is now released on bail, according to Utusan Malaysia. With any hope, we won’t see another clip of them circulating on Twitter while investigations are being carried out.
If found guilty under Section 337D of the Malaysian Penal Code, which corresponds to “[o]utrages on decency”, the couple may face up to two years in jail.
Yet, the story doesn’t end here.
According to a lawyer interviewed by Sin Chew Daily, it is also possible for the videographer to be charged for spreading an obscene video. Since the couple was engaging in an indecent act in public, it is unlikely that the videographer will be charged with voyeurism.
Instead, the lawyer shared that if the videographer is charged, it would likely be under section 233 of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Act.
