First impressions last. Especially at interviews when you’re about to meet your prospective future employer.
Or maybe when you’re not even looking for a new job. That’s exactly what happened to this GrabFood delivery guy.
You’ll never know when you’re going to meet someone who’s going to change your life forever.
M’sian CEO So Touched By GrabFood Delivery Guy’s Story That He Offered Him A Job
The CEO of Natura, a company in Malaysia, named Aiman Manan took to Facebook to share his experience of meeting a GrabFood delivery guy named Ganesh.
Ganesh had left such a good first impression that he immediately offered him a job in his company.
In the post he explained, “I met Ganesh a few months ago when I first tried Grab Food. What caught me is the fact that the boy was really well-spoken and polite.”
So his courtesy was what grabbed the CEO’s attention. When he found out that Ganesh was doing delivery jobs, Aiman said that his company also delivers stuff every day and therefore it’s a “match”.
CEO Took A Chance On Ganesh After Listening To His Story
He decided to take a chance on Ganesh and he was right to do that, because Ganesh completed all his tasks efficiently.
“We tried his service a couple of times and this guy was pin point with his timing. Never once late and when we cross-checked with our customers, they said similar things too. Well-spoken, polite and on time.”
Ganesh was described as well-spoken, polite and punctual, but underneath all of that lay a challenging past that undoubtedly cultivated those good traits.
According to Malay Mail, Ganesh came from a single-parent household. His father left the family when he was a small child. He was also the eldest of four siblings, which meant that he had to give up his studies to work and his mother financially.
Supporting your family is never easy especially when you’re young and do not have much or any qualifications. Ganesh didn’t have any choice though, so he took on various delivery jobs so that he can help pay for his family’s expenses.
Every day, he only takes RM100 (~S$32.54) to put into his savings account while the rest goes is “put in his family’s pot”.
Ganesh Was Offered A Fixed Pay Job At His Company
After hearing his touching story, Aiman decided to give him a job managing inventories at his company for a fixed pay.
This alone will surely give him even more stability. However, to sweeten the deal, Aiman also said that he could still work other delivery jobs if he liked.
“Only thing he needs to do is plan his day accordingly. I believe hustle is the way to go, and Ganesh is capable of doing so, huge potential for a bright, young man.”
The post has since garnered 3,000 shares and 9,000 likes on Facebook.
Ganesh’s freelance delivery service, has also received even more orders, which has increased from about six orders a day to almost 40 orders daily from netizens.
Honestly, I’m so touched from writing about this. We definitely need more good in the world.
