For some, pets are a great way to unwind and have fun after a long day’s work. For others, they’re a part of the family.
And just as when a loved one passes, the death of a pet can be hard to accept.
M’sian Dad So Affected by Cat’s Death, He Cried In Front of Everyone & Said a Prayer Before Burying It
A video of a man crying profusely while holding the carcass of his pet cat has gone viral on social media.

The video was shared on Twitter on Saturday (14 Nov).
Yang ada kucing je faham perasaan ni. 6 tahun jaga dia sampai besar sihat, dia tidur dgn abah setiap hari. Hari ini dia pergi meninggalkan kami semua buat selamanya. My Umi record this video, dia pun tak tahan menangis. Sakitnya ya Allah. pic.twitter.com/pcbU23Fb4T

The video starts off with the man picking up the deceased cat off the floor and into his arms.

He then carries it out of the house and into a field, where they prepare for its burial.
Sobbing, the man recited a prayer before laying his cat to rest.
An “Inseparable” Pair
According to the man’s daughter, who lives in Kuala Lumpur, the cat, named Milo, had been with the family for six years.
Her father and Milo were an “inseparable” pair.
In a subsequent post, the woman revealed that her father used to have breakfast with all their cats, but had a special place in his heart for Milo.

Setiap hari macam nilah, milo siap duduk atas riba lagi tu. Dia nak paling dekat dgn abah. Buat lah salah apa pun, kencing ke, cakar sofa ke, kalau umi marah kucing dia, dia akan pujuk kucing dia "anak abah ni….." pic.twitter.com/huafdCRgdN

“If Milo ever caused any trouble, he would defend him by saying, ‘This is my child,'” she said.
In her original post, the woman said Milo slept by her father’s side every night.
“Those who have a pet cat would understand. He took care of him for six years. They would sleep by each other’s side every day. Today, he left our family forever. My mum recorded this video, she also failed to hold back her tears. This is so painful, oh God.”
Still Mourning Milo’s Death
The woman also shared a screenshot of a conversation she had with her mother after Milo’s passing.

In it, her mother said: “Your father won’t stop crying… I’m worried about him. He was crying in the bathroom too.”
On 16 Nov, the man texted his daughter saying a white cat had appeared in his house and became attached to him.
He plans on adopting the cat, so it can take Milo’s place.
However, the man is still in mourning, evident by another video posted by his daughter, where he can be seen crying in a car.
Abah masih rasa kehilangan. I tahu abah bukan jenis senang nangis. Masa I nikah pun dia tak nangis.. kematian milo ni membuatkan dia nangis tak henti. This is the latest video of abah. Abah mmg tak boleh hidup tanpa kucing. I don't mind he adopted another one. Asalkan abah happy pic.twitter.com/3Lzla5hd1Y

In the tweet, the woman wrote:
“Dad is still grieving. My dad isn’t the type of man who can cry easily. When I got married, he didn’t cry, but he won’t stop crying since Milo’s death. This is the latest video of my dad. He really can’t live without cats. I don’t mind he adopted another one. (sic) As long as he is happy.”
