M’sian University Student Does Nazi Salute During Graduation As Protest Against Israel

All humans with some sense can agree on two things.

  1. Pineapple should come nowhere near a pizza
  2. Hitler was a vile sociopath

Unfortunately, because humankind is full of humans who are not kind, many choose to adopt the German dictator’s abhorrent values and even praise him for his atrocious mass murder of Jewish people.

You’re probably thinking of Neo-Nazi groups in Europe or America, but no, it was a university student in Malaysia.

M’sian University Student Does Nazi Salute During Graduation As Protest Against Israel

Graduation is a time of celebration. You’re finally rewarded for your years of stress and hard work. Going up on that stage and accepting your graduation certificate is a high point for many people.

And as you know, some of your friends have struck kooky poses for the camera when they were accepting their certificate. Some dab and others give a basic thumbs up. This guy, however, chose to do the Nazi salute.

One Twitter user posted a picture that was taken from Facebook, showing a graduate from Universiti Malaysia Sabah making a Nazi salute on stage during his graduation in protest of Israeli violence in Palestine.

The student posted the picture on Facebook accompanied by a lengthy paragraph boasting about his salute and praising Hitler for his horrific deeds.

“I’m presenting the Hitler symbol on the UMS stage because the world stood silent and blind when the Jews were terrorising others as though Islamic rulers were clowns and entertainers for world politics. Hence, I’m in solidarity with Gaza due to the anger, hate, and grudge I hold towards the Jews. So, I thank Hitler for the Holocaust.” – Translated by World of Buzz

Yes, he said, “I thank Hitler for the Holocaust”. It’s hard to describe how repugnant this comment is, considering over 6 million Jewish people died in the Holocaust.

I don’t know enough about the Israel-Palestine conflict, but it just doesn’t make sense to me to blame Jews in the 1940s for a conflict in the 21st century.

What’s even more infuriating was the fact that he was allowed to graduate.

Netizen response

Netizens were disgusted by the student’s actions, to say the least.

One made sure to clarify that this student’s beliefs do not reflect that of all Malaysians or Muslims.

Others slammed the university for allowing the student to graduate.

I have to agree. How can the university allow this student to graduate after such a hateful gesture?

Clearly, this student doesn’t appreciate the gravity of his actions and comments.

We can only hope that the university will do something about the man’s awful behaviour.
