On 17 Jun, MUJI Singapore took to its Facebook page to share the sad news about the closure of the MUJI outlet at Marina Square.

Besides thanking their long-time customers for supporting the outlet, they also said that the nearest other outlet is at Raffles City.

Which, to be honest, is practically nearby.

Nonetheless, some netizens were saddened by the news.

While others don’t care which outlet is open, as long as it opens in Phase 2:

Will MUJI Singapore Be Opening On 19 June?

Can I get my soft-bristle body scrub on Friday?

Well, it’s not been confirmed yet.

In their Facebook post, MUJI Singapore says they’ll provide more updates regarding their store reopening at a later date.

We have reached out to MUJI Singapore for more details and will update the article once they have responded.

If you’re wondering why MUJI Singapore isn’t rushing to open on 19 June (got business they don’t want to do ah?), they could have their own reasons.

Just like how restaurants complained about the ban on dining-in at their outlets, but when it was announced that the ban was lifted on 19 Jun 2020, not all restaurants will be reopening for dine-in on that day.

Manpower issue was a recurring problem for some businesses in the F&B industry.

In order to cope with the cost and reduced revenue, some workers have to be redeployed or just laid off; so when the announcement comes in just four days before, you can be sure that some businesses won’t be ready by the time Phase 2 kicks in.

Meanwhile, if you really need MUJI products right now, you can always order online from their website.
