According to CNA, subscribers of the telco began experiencing network outages at around 7:00am today (31 Mar);
Much to their chagrin and frustration.
MyRepublic Facing Mobile Network Connectivity Issue on Wed (31 Mar) Morning; Investigations Being Carried Out
According to monitoring website Downdetector, numerous reports of connectivity issues were reported in the early morning today (31 Mar).
At its peak, around 600 reports are said to have been made.
It should be noted that some customers reported service issues before 7:00am, with one alleging that there had been no connectivity since the previous night (30 Mar).
Frustration also seemed to be especially rampant amongst affected subscribers.
At 8:30am, MyRepublic Singapore announced that they were aware of a mobile network connectivity issue, and stated that their network team was carrying out investigations.
Restoration
At 9:25am, the local telco shared a link to their network status page, where they promised to upload the latest updates.
According to the page, MyRepublic’s broadband and voice services were not affected by the issue.
And at 10:45am, they declared that connectivity had been fully restored.
“Connectivity has been fully restored for affected subscribers,” they wrote on their Facebook page.
As for those who were still facing problems, they were advised to restart their mobile devices.
“If you are still unable to connect to your network, please restart your mobile device. We will be sharing more information on the nature of the outage shortly.
“Thank you for your patience.”
They also apologised for the inconvenience caused.
However, some subscribers continued to face issues even at 1:00pm.
MyRepublic Singapore has since gotten back to some of them.
Though for most cases, they have advised affected subscribers to reboot their mobile devices.
